As per Google's latest news, they have decided to shelf their Google Wave project permanently. This is due to low percentage of user interest and not much buzz created in the technology world even if it has been launched already earlier this year.
I am one of those people who signed up for the pilot use of the tool. I first found it quite interesting. However, it did not offer something much better in my opinion aside from the real-time text I/O between two or more Google wavers.
I hope that the technology that Google has invested and developed in this tool will be used in mobile technology instead. I think it will be more lucrative if the Wave concept is embedded in mobile phones. It would be very cool to see the real-time text inputs of your friend while you both are kilometers apart from each other. I would love to see it as one of the features of a Google phone or the IPhone 4 or any smartphone in the market. That would be too awesome, don't you think?
